My Story

I've Been Exactly Where You Are

My name is J.R. Hutter, and I'm a US Army combat veteran who traded one battlefield for another—the chaos of nightlife.

For 18 years, I lived behind the decks as a DJ and behind the bar as a manager and operating partner. I ran venues across South Florida and worked clubs from coast to coast. From the outside, it looked like I was living the dream.

But inside? I was drowning.

I fell into the lifestyle hard. Drinking became daily. Drugs became normal. I told myself everyone in this industry does it—that it just comes with the territory.

I was battling depression, ADHD, Bipolar II, and PTSD from my time in service. The nightlife made it worse. The isolation at 3PM. The hangovers. The self-destruction disguised as "networking."

I kept telling myself I'd start Monday. That I didn't have time. That I'd get serious after this weekend, this event, this season.

I spent 15 years stuck in that loop.

Then I hit a wall. I was tired of feeling like shit. Tired of not recognizing myself. Tired of making excuses.

So I stopped waiting for the "right time" and built a system that worked with my schedule, not against it.

I found fitness. I found sobriety. I found routines that gave me my power back.

I dropped the weight. Built the body. Got my mind right. Started walking into rooms with my head up instead of stumbling in looking for the bar.

Now I do this full-time—helping bar owners, nightclub managers, DJs, and nightlife operators break the cycle and build the life they actually want.
